Early life and background
Manisha Meher was born in Sonpur, Western Odisha. Presently she is living with her family in New Delhi. Manisha’s father’s name is Padma Shri Kailash Chandra Meher and mother Smt. Lakshmi Meher and both brothers Prakash-Jayant are artists of national repute.
Manisha Meher Career
She was initiated into the craft when she was fourteen years old. she gained major experience in the field of Tussar painting from her father. Who is also a UNESCO and Shilpguru Award artist. Manisha’s mother is a renowned painter, constantly encouraged and inspired her passion. She has been associated with her own heart and soul for the past two decades in her craft. Along with this, she has trained herself in various techniques. She has become a talented artist in few days. She has given training in many institutes like “Indian Academy of Arts and Crafts for Women” and “Handicrafts Handloom Museum and Service Center for Women” along with many poor artisans have been trained.

Her miniature paintings are displayed in exhibitions from time to time across India. And her paintings are highly valued by the visitors to the exhibition. The museum has been procured by the Ministry of Textiles, the Ministry of Culture, and the private collections of so many VVIPs in India and abroad. She received the Craftsman National Award in 2005 from her Excellency the President of India. State Award in 2002 from the Chief Minister of Odisha. and received the Odisha State Design Award in 2001 from the Minister of Textiles.
